A VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF LABOUR

On Thursday June 2, Veral was paid a visit by the Minister of Labour & Social Affairs, on its premises in Gerakas Attikis.
 
The minister, accompanied by the Commander of DYPA, Mr. Spiros Protopsaltis,  was given a tour to the labs and the contemporary production and filling area of the company.
 
Mr. Hatzidakis showed great interest in Veral as it is a Greek company which has a growing exporting activity in over 40 countries, while at the same time Veral has created a lot of job offers part of which are subsidized by DYPA programs (National Services for Employment) and is addressed mainly to the youngsters.
Mr. Hatzidakis chose Veral to announce the initiation of a new program which involves 10,000 young people up to age of 29 and which offers them the opportunity to obtain working experience with a monthly subsidy equivalent to basic salary for 7 months.
 
The minister had the opportunity to speak with the employers and the employees in all departments of the company and expressed his satisfaction regarding the high levels of the working practices of Veral.
 
It is worth mentioning that Veral is an active member of Sedex (the world’s largest platform for supply chain assessment, to store, analyse, share, and report on sustainability practices) and it is committed to continuous improvement of both its employees’ rights and human rights in general, as well as work ethics.
 
For this reason Veral is regularly audited by independent bodies based on standards of labour, health & safety, environmental performance and ethics.
